Family Sail

Why leave all the fun to the kids? Come join other adults and your sailor for casual racing or recreational sailing in 420 sailboats. Enjoy sailing with others in the Ipswich Bay on a summer evening. Current IJS sailors are free with parent/guardian registration!

Either the parent or sailor must be experienced in 42o sailing. This is not an instructional class. 

Registrations for Family Sail will open in April

2025 Adult Sailing Dates:

  • July 1st
  • July 8th
  • July 15th
  • July 29th
  • August 5th
  • August 12th

Schedule and other Arrangements:

  • Weather depending, we sail Tuesday evenings from 5-7:30 PM, with Wednesday as a rain date.
  • Before participation, advanced registration (including payment and a signed waiver) is required. 
  • Weather notices are sent via text.
  • All participants are asked to bring a life preserver and closed-toe footwear.

The cost is $275 for the Family Evening Sailing season (6 sessions). Individual evening sessions will go on sale based on limited availability and a fee of $60 per session.
